Trace your move.

GPSLocator enables you to record your locations using the GPS while hiking, running, biking or by car.

Data are stored in a simple text format that can be used later.

Once recorded, you can upload the data from your phone to www.GPSVisualizer.com and visualize your path on different maps generated by the site.

Simple to use, does not requires connection with internet while recording.

Manual:

1. Before starting GPSLocator ensures that the GPS receiver is ON.

2. To set the GPS ON: Select "Settings", "Wireless Controls", "My Location sources", "Enable GPS satellites".

3. Start GPSLocator

4. To start recording, simply click on "Start/Show Position" button.

5. You can push anytime on the "Save in SDCard/Show rec. Data" to verify the progression of the recording. But this is not necessary. Be sure the phone is not connected to the USB when saving the data to SDCard.
The phone will not be able to access the SDCard.

6. To end the route trace recording click on "Save in SDCARD/Show rec. Data" Disable the GPS receiver to save battery in "Settings", "Wireless Controls", "My location sources", "Disable GPS satellites". Or press on "Stop + GPS".

7. To restart a fresh location trace route, click on "Delete Data" button. Warning, the previous data location will be erased.

8. You can select the definition of the number of points to record by a click on the phone "MENU". This will open the selection of different recording periods. "Hi Definition" is recording almost in continue while "Running", "Biking" and "Car" will record in more spaced periods thus loosing in fine tracing but saving space in recording file and more important: saves battery.

9. Once the data are saved int the SDCard (see 5.) you can find them in the SDCard file named "Gpsdata.txt".

10. You can draw a map using www.gpsvisualizer.com. Plug your phone to your PC open the USB connection and indicate "Gpsdata.txt" as the data to browse.

Something to know

Insure that your phone has a good and clean satellite fix. You can use some utility on the market to check your GPS satellite status. GPSLocator assumes that the satellite's fix is OK. It could be that your GPS is unable to fix to any satellite even waiting for a very long time. In this case power OFF/ON the phone will probably resolve the problem by reinitializing the GPS.
